Official release of axaio MadeToTag

Much easier, much faster and more reliable preparation of Adobe InDesign files for export to tagged PDF: Until June 30th, 2013 free of charge usage!

Berlin – 19 December, 2012 - axaio software, developer of automation solutions for PDF creation, printing output and content correction workflows for the publishing and printing markets, is proud to announce the official release of its Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 plugin for easy and fast preparation and export of tagged PDF files: axaio MadeToTag.

A year after starting up the beta program, where users of the public beta version actively participated in the realization of MadeToTag by bringing in their comments, ideas and solutions for improvement, axaio software released the official version of MadeToTag, a revolutionary product when it comes to creating tagged PDF files.

Why produce better tagged PDFs?

Tagged PDFs are essential for accessibility, so that screen reader devices for visually impaired people or reading software for users with learning disabilities can provide rich access to a PDF’s content. Tagged PDFs also enable screen reader software programs to offer easy navigation and accessible presentation of content in PDF files.

On top of that, PDF tags are an effective method to improve your company’s Search Engine Optimization. The tags in the PDF file follow concepts similar to those found in HTML. Properly used tags place websites higher in the search engine rankings.

Properly tagged PDF files have become very important for public administrations and enterprises. Legal requirements for physically impaired people and for accessibility in the information technology (such as described in the German BGG, BITV and EU mandate 376) impose that the public sector offers all content – webpages as well as PDF documents – in an accessible form. But also media service providers, representatives of associations and institutions as well as students and lecturers at colleges and unversities increasingly consider it their duty to have their written materials available as accessible documents. – Nothing simpler then that - with MadeToTag.

Tagged PDF in five steps!

MadeToTag features a user-interface that allows step-by-step guidance through tasks for creating accessible, tagged PDF files. This user-friendly concept offers a better overview of the necessary tasks and provides a higher level of control and security. In only five steps (tasks) tagged PDF files can be created from within Adobe InDesign CS5.5 or CS6:

Task 1: Define and review export tags
Task 2: Structure content into articles
Task 3: Display and edit alternate text
Task 4: Review document metadata
Task 5: Create tagged PDF

axaio MadeToTag is available in English and German and can be downloaded from the axaio software website. As special gift to all users the product can be used free of charge until June 30, 2013 without being bound to buy the product after that period. After June 30, 2013 the version will expire and you will need to buy the product if you further want to use it.

axaio MadeToTag requires Adobe InDesign CS5.5 or CS6 and is available for Mac (10.5/10.6/10.7) and Windows (Vista and Windows 7).
