axaio MadeToPrint, the intelligent printing and exporting solution for Adobe® InDesign®, Illustrator®, InCopy® or QuarkXPress® solves current issues with insufficient or unfriendly output procedures and saves both time and costs. At IFRA Expo in Hamburg, axaio will showcase further MadeToPrint advancements for output of layers and dynamic adjustment of job sets through parameter overrides.

Thanks to the upcoming new functionality, axaio MadeToPrint will export fully PDF/X-4 compliant layer views directly from Adobe InDesign for the first time. Layer views are a way to group layers into logical combinations; they allow creating PDF files where the end-user can easily switch between different regional or language versions, or between a technical, marketing or legal view on the same document. Whereever documents with multiple layers have to be processed and output – especially in the graphics and packaging industry – the completely updated MadeToPrint layer handling will make work much more easier and intuitive.

MadeToPrint job sets allow a high degree of flexibility to control and configure the print or output process. Often there is a need to change one or two parameters in a given jobset; the ‘parameter overrides’ option allows just that. Based on the settings configured before in any environment, with the ’Parameter Overrides’ of MadeToPrint it will be possible to select individual parameters (e.g. bleedmarks, image resolution, etc.) from this configuration and assign a value to that parameter. The user will activate for example the PDF export presets, and thereafter (before actually carrying out the PDF export or print job) the respective parameters will be adjusted accordingly – based on the ’Parameter Overrides’. Either manually or automatically under control of a job ticket or workflow system, a number of parameters in the jobset can be dynamically adjusted as needed.

axaio MadeToPrint comes in three versions depending on the automation level:

MadeToPrint Standard, a plug-in for Adobe InDesign® that streamlines single file output to PDF and other file formats. Predefined job sets provide ‘one mouse click’ identical output from every workstation for increased efficiency.

MadeToPrint Auto, a plug-in that allows for hands-off standardized output from InDesign.

MadeToPrint Server, an InDesign Server plug-in that offers 24/7 output automation for high volume and high demanding publishing and print environments. MadeToPrint Auto and Server allow integration with editorial systems such as vjoon K4, Quark Publishing System and WoodWing Enterprise 7 and can be automated by automation systems such as Enfocus Switch or Four Pees DFlux.
