axaio software invites you to try out a free of charge public beta version of the new MadeToTag InDesign plugin. The new plug-in allows preparing Adobe® InDesign® documents for export to tagged PDF much easier, faster and more reliable. Having a properly tagged PDF is a prerequisite for accessibility; it is important to allow visually impaired people or users with learning disabilities to have rich access to a PDF file’s content.
Additionally, PDF tags are also an effective method to improve the company’s Search Engine Optimization. The tags in the PDF file follow concepts similar to those found in HTML. Properly used tags place websites higher in the search engine rankings.
And finally, tagged PDFs are beginning to emerge as a vital part of the business world. Properly tagged PDF files have become a requirement for certain organizations and businesses. Regulations like Section 508 in the USA, Common Look in Canada or the Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology in Germany impose that the public sector, in all industrialized countries, offers all content – web pages as well as PDF documents – in an accessible form.

A very useful feature with the promising name ‘Color Contrast Analyser’ has been added. This feature checks your InDesign document on missing color contrasts, always having in mind that it is important that the content of the final PDF document is not only accessible to the usual reader, it also needs to be easy to read for visually impaired people or people with low color vision.
Those who want to use MadeToTag with the new Adobe InDesign CS6 can do so right away – MadeToTag beta 3 immediately supports Adobe Creative Suite 6.
